VERY FINE/NEAR MINT

(W) Jeph Loeb (A/CA) Ed McGuinness

The Human Rocket returns! You've followed him through the history making (and changing!) AvX and now the mystery of the all-new Nova are revealed in this breathtaking new ongoing by the best-selling, award winning team of Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness (RED HULK, Avengers X-Sanction). Sam Alexander is a kid bound by the gravity of a small town and a father whose ridiculous, drunken fairy tales about a "Nova Corps" were just another heavy burden in a life full of them. But luckily for Sam Alexander...soon gravity won't even matter. And those troubles? It's like they're a billion miles away.

Let me start off by saying, I did not want to like this title. being a fan of all things cosmic I like many others fell in love with an adult Rich Rider during Annihilation. This continued into his very own title where he finally became a man. When marvel killed off this character I was none too pleased. Why would I want to read about a kid Nova? I didn't like Rich Rider as a kid. However, upon reading I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is not just another reboot. Sam Alexander is the son of a former Nova Corp Centurion who is had to listen to his dads "stories" all his life. Now rebellious and fed up with his "loser" of a father he is on his way to confront his father when he is met by a couple familiar faces. Good start what could be another excellent series for Marvel. Lets hope.
