Power Girl, for me, is best when she’s showing some attitude, sticking out of the crowd like Lady Gaga at a baseball game. We do get some of that here, as she skips out of her duty as boss of a company to try to find Max Lord, telepath villain extraordinare and no paper gangsta, with a bunch of JLA buddies. And there’s the telephone calls (without Beyonce) she wishes she did not get (hey, that isn’t a stretch; it actually IS a big part of the story). Yet overall it’s mostly a straight-forward stick-to-business story, which any character can fill. Until the cliff-hanger at the end, that I liked. For my first Power Girl comic, I somewhat enjoyed it, though I want to see more of her secret identity side…no paparazzi moments, please.
