In a classic rendition of a televised episode, Marty is left on his own without Rick. This is a wonderful look at the character of Morty and what makes him tick. Not having to take a backseat to Rick, Morty actually does all right for himself. On the verge of breaking out of his shell, Rick returns and ruins everything. But as always its a good thing because Morty's naive outlook on life is moments away from being crushed. The philosophical question becomes is Morty's positive outlook warping the world around him to be a better place and it's Rick's crappy outlook that brings out the worst in the universe? Think about that one!
