The further away we get from a Whedon writing these, the less they feel like actual 'Serenity' or 'Firefly', or 'Goram Fox is Mighty Stupid Like: The Jayne Story, Wait Jayne Already Has a Story So's This is Another Differenter Jayne Story-He'll Be in His Bunk'. There's a nice heist to start things off, but the meat on the bones feels like it might be about child terrorism, or children being used by terrorists, which makes it a bit topical n' timely for my tastes. Georges Jeanty continues to get the basics without ever really nailing a specific panel, but his work does move your eye through a page nicely. Let's all check back in 4 weeks or so and see if we're going somewhere then.
