Your enjoyment of Sideways may be affected by your attachment to spotted blacks in your comic art. I believe you almost need blacks in your inking to create a feeling of contrast to direct the eye around the panel, the page and identify light sources. Since that isn't happening here, you had better have a pretty great story, or compelling characters, or a low price point. Well, one out of three out of five isn't bad I guess.
