Superman #32 (2011) has been added to your cart.
If this was any other book, it would rate a 7. If this was any other creative team, it would rate a 7. If it was any other character, it rate a 7 at best. Call this a cautious '9' instead. We've seen Superman stories before where another character's journey parallels Kal-El's. Geoff Johns doesn't give us anything new there, but we he gives is solid. What we haven't seen is when its drawn by John Romita Jr., more invested, more invigorated than he's looked in years. There have been inspired moments in 'Kick-Ass 3', but those moments have been overshadows by inconsistencies in anatomy, scale, backgrounds...the works. Here, he shines with posture and expression-look for the great work set at the Daily Planet. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that our mystery parallel guest doesn't end up stealing the lime-light here, but there's energy and verve galore. This is the best Superman has been in the New 52 outside of Grant Morrison's run on Action Comics, and its just getting started. Welcome to DC, Mr. Romita.
