Mark Russell is about as close as we have to a proper humorist writing for the funny books right now. There are always laughs, but there's honesty and pathos there. His observations about the corporate structure of the world are spot on, and in case you might have missed it, that spot is a bleak one. Would he be able to bring that to Disney? That's what we're talking about here. Marvel is Disney. Disney is large, and spreading like Tetsuo across the entertainment landscape.
Luckily, this feels like an under the radar title that might be getting away with murder.
In fact, he absolutely does get away with murder, as you'll see by the end of this issue. Bob Quinn's art is fine, not where you'd want it to be, not nearly the worst thing you've seen published by modern Marvel. But, you're coming here for the words, and the words are welcoming.
