Grimm Fairy Tales presents - "The Devil's Gambit". The armies of good and evil are gathering on both sides in preparation for a war that threatens to rip the Grimm Fairy Tales universe apart and destroy earth in the process. After recruiting Cinderella to help lead his army the Devil ads Pinocchio to his ranks. But first the boy puppet must endure a hideous transformation that makes him a potent living weapon.

The fight continues, as Cindy shows her prowess with the sword, and two tales, The Lord’s Animals and the Devil’s Animals, and The Seven Ravens, ends the issue (the last featuring a younger Orcus). An interesting issue, as the art gets the job done, and the story moves on at a steady clip. The Seven Ravens, in particular, was a well-told tale. Grimm Fairy Tales attempts to stay true to the atmosphere of the originals, which mean Grimm and real. Try it if you want a bit of stark violence with your children’s stories.
