Introducing the first of six spotlights focusing on everyone's favorite Ponies! Twilight Sparkle becomes enthralled in a literary masterpiece. Dismayed to hear the series never continued, Twilight goes on a quest to hunt down the reclusive author, Jade Singer. It will take all of the studious Pony's detective skill to find the author, and twists and turns abound! Don't miss this adventure in imagination!
Date Available: 02/20/2013
BONUS REVIEW by John "Doc" Schaefer

Although I have jumped on the pony bandwagon thanks to my daughter, I really question starting up a new micro-series only 3 issues into the regular series. It screams overkill to me and when product is rushed to market before it's ripened, its never good. But Twilight Sparkle is well done. Thomas Zahler has a real interest in Twilight Sparkle and it shows. It also helps that his concept is good and his dialog is spot-on. (Look for a terrific comic book organizer joke) And the addition of one of the variant covers being a coloring book page for the kids to color on their own is by far one of the best cover gimmicks I've seen in a long time. And speaking of striking while the iron is hot, be ready parents as the ad for the new Rainbow Dash micro-series due out in March graces one of the ad pages at the back of the book.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
