Ugh! I forgot to save this review the first time around. Guess I was too busy trying to sum up my lack of feelings for this book. Basically I only read it because 1) Simon Spurrier wrote CODA last year (I love CODA. Read CODA.) and 2) BOOM! has a lot of great books right now. So I jumped right in without even reading the solicitation. And... I totally don't care about the 3 main characters. At all, just meh. I don't hate them but I don't like them either. They are just a mishmash of stereotypes mixed in a blender that happen to all be named a version of Sam. So the three of them find an alien sack in the woods and get a weird superpower. They can hear each other's thoughts. This power is then shoved down your throat for 18 pages. Over and over and over and over. It was here I really learned I don't feel anything to, for or about these guys. Not one bit of interesting to draw me in. I felt alienated from them, so goodjob there I guess. Thankfully in the last few pages the alien sack opens and my intrigue was piqued. No facehugger but some very neat visuals leave a good enough hook/ cliffhanger that I will be back next issue. Maybe.
