VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
(W) Brian Wood
(A) Tristan Jones
(CA) Massimo Carnevale
The mangled Europa is in a state of free fall in Earth's atmosphere with Zula, Davis, Hollis, and a previously frozen xenomorph onboard. Davis battles the alien threat while Hollis and Zula scramble to the escape hatch. Impact is unavoidable; survival is doubtful.

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

Wednesday was Alien Day (4/26- take that, stoners! We get high on eggs.) and Dark Horse made sure there were plenty of options to choose from. First up is the penultimate issue of Brian Wood's 'Defiance'. The first half is almost wordless, which means visual storytelling has to get us through those pages. Guest artist Eduardo Francisco is up to the challenge, moving your eye through the crippled ship, and moving it across the page at the same time. It's only after we're back on Earth that things get a little muddy.

This has been an excellent series. With a cruel set-up for what coming at the end and some real insight into the Weyland Yutani corporate mindset, this issue is a winner.

Take a minute and read this one at work. In office space, no one can hear you lean.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
