 This was a pleasantly surprising read, and got me really interested in the character of Dylan Dog. Who is Dylan Dog you might ask? He’s a very popular occult detective character from Italian comics that’s been fighting the supernatural since 1986. Think John Constantine or Hellboy, but with less magic. The book is a standalone mini-series, so you don’t have to worry about catching up on Batman or Dylan Dog to read this. The story centers around Joker being invited to London by Dr. Xabaras (Dylan Dog’s arch nemesis), who helped Joker in his earlier years. Batman follows Joker to see why he left Gotham, and encounters Dylan Dog trying to stop the mad doctor from raising the dead (again). A much more detective oriented Batman, and a fun introduction to Dylan Dog and his sidekick Groucho. I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
