A new day dawns in Gotham and the horrors of “The Joker War” are just being realized. A bold new direction for Batman begins as Bruce Wayne’s circumstances are forever changed. How did the Joker’s rampage affected the citizens of the city? And why does Cole Cash—a.k.a.—Grifter, now work for Lucius Fox?!

BONUS REVIEW by Rick Berg

In 1992 Jim Lee started Wildcats. Grifter was my favorite character because he was clearly Wolverine wearing Gambit's coat acting like the Punisher. Rick in 1992 ate that pie straight up. Nearly 30 years later I could not tell you the last time I read a comic with Grifter. Maybe the Grant Morrison Jim Lee reboot that never happened. I dunno but I saw issue #101 of Batman had a Grifter variant and I went huh I wonder how fast Batman would wipe the floor with Grifter. I also at this point remembered loving Tynion IV's Department of Truth. So I flipped through this issue and I saw Tim Drake Robin, Batman with light Blue underwear, Batman fighting Grifter and Will Smith. So I decided that hopefully the Joker overdose was over and read it. Well Tim and Blue were a flashback. Sad face. Grifter somehow fought Batman to a standstill until guns were used. Uhm what? Will Smith aka Fox's estranged son is so obviously the new Batman or a red herring it hurts. All his page is missing is a giant arrow pointing at him. Also Batman has like aged in his chin to post Frank Miller Dark Knight Returns. Anyone know when that happened? Me neither. A decent jumping on point if you are as over the Joker as I was of Grifter in 1993.

I give it 5 out of 10 Grahams
