How do you like your horror? Divisive, subversive? Sacrilegious yet theologically consistent? Hypocrites- are they wonderful or should they get theirs? Would you like to see the writer of Preacher showing he hasn't lost his interest in these topics?
If so, great news! Garth Ennis and Becky Cloonan raise the Creepshow bar with the best story this revival has seen between two years of material. Cloonan's use of line weight gives a real beauty to ugly business. This is stern, satirical stuff, and will absolutely not be for everyone. Hopefully you know your own tastes ahead of time because this recommendation comes with a GIANT ASTERISK.
The second story by Phil Hester is perfectly serviceable example of why unexplainable horror is better without the explanation. It's still worth a read.
