For a brief page or two, a bit of hope rallied in me. For the rallying heroes of the New JSA brought the brief glimpse of this books potential. Then quickly it was destroyed by the overwhelming depression and over all sense of dismay. If a book truly embraced Darkseid's message of hopelessness, it is this one. It actually creeped me out (and not in a good way!) by it vision of total defeat.
