BONUS REVIEW by Gary Owens

DC is remaking its worlds, with some fanfare, but not in the way you expected. In this issue, we see a remake of the Flash and The Green Lantern (which was in the news, about his sexuality). For background, Earth 2 (not our Earth) has healed some from a massive war that was concluded in the first issue, and naturally more events are on the horizon. The cover explains what happens to the Flash, and there is a very interesting tidbit for Mr. Terrific, too. In any event, for people who have followed Earth 2 closely in the past, I admit I haven't and I don't mind this reboot. Continuity is important, but only to a point; sometimes trying to explain a "rollback" can cause more messes than just doing it, without explanation (Spiderman comes to mind, for me). I like the Flash here (it makes more sense, honestly), and the change for Green Lantern was too in-your-face. Normally they don't do this much stuff for heterosexual couples in comics...but I don't see this series reaching issue #100, so they need to show more in less space. I give this series a thumbs-up, as long as the writer doesn't try to rush through stories in the future. Continuity in having the same characters from issue to issue is crucial, it builds depth, and we haven't seen it here much.
