'OUT OF THE WASTELAND' The things that divide us are stronger than the things that unite us. A Sci-Fi Western set in a dystopian America where all hope for the future rests in the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse…who just happen to be trying to kill the President of the United States. One of the most exciting new books of the year, this is EAST OF WEST, a brand new, ongoing, monthly comic from the award-winning team of Marvel's FF, JONATHAN HICKMAN and NICK DRAGOTTA.
Date Available: 03/27/2013

Talk about slow. A stunning new non-superhero comic from Hickman, who in my mind works best just across the boundary of that crass genre (Ennis does, too), and here I don’t see this comic until the 2nd printing. Shucks, I don’t see it until #2 comes out—talk about real slow. Though I’ve missed the lucrative first printing of #1, at least I can buy both, now, and get more about a dystopian American Sci-Fi Western (my favorite fiction category. Imagine that!) in a single shot, and hope it doesn’t kill me from an overdose. Great art by Dragotta just caps it as a must-have each month. Hickman likes cosmic stories, and I sniff the hint of one here. Just got to remember to keep my eye on the ball.

I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
