The sun has set on the heroes of the past, and a new age is dawning! As two arrogant gods challenge one another to a contest of strength, Superman and Wonder Woman are forced to take action to save their cities from the chaos. Together, Jonathan Kent and Yara Flor, man of science and woman of myth, have the potential to become something powerful, but that’s only if they can learn to get along! Can the two fledgling heroes put their differences aside long enough to save the world they have sworn to protect?

We're getting a lot thrown at us with these Future State books and this week we get a taste of how the new Superman and Wonder Woman will interact. After really enjoying last week's debut of Yara Flor I was excited to see how she plays with others and if you read that issue like me, you probably guessed "not well". In typical Super Hero team up fashion the boy scout in Superman makes him all for the team up and Wonder Woman not so much. They play with the trope of science versus myth by bringing in the Brazilian Pantheon of gods which is a nice breathe of fresh air because we've already seen a Superman interact with the Greek Gods many many times. Overall I really enjoyed the writing and the character relationships built in this issue. What I didn't love in this issue is the art. Page to page I feel like the characters look like pretty different people which is never fun, but especially with brand new characters. For those who are excited about this new Wonder Woman and what her world will be like moving forward, this is a fun read and definitely not something to skip.

I give it 7 out of 10 Grahams
