Imagine if hell kept score. Imagine if demons were actively competing to punish the most sinners for a chance to get out. Now imagine if it wasn’t hell, but instead, it was the Twilight Zone, and instead of demons, it was the GhouLunatics from the various EC comic anthologies of yesteryear.
That is the basic idea of Hyde Street. It’s one of those classic horror anthology series in reverse, where we see things from the perspective of the mysterious narrators and what it’s like to orchestrate episodes of cosmic horror for the amusement of others, all lovingly illustrated by Ivan Reis.
It’s another throwback to the classics with a modern sensibility, another great horror series, and another win for Ghost Machine. If you’re a fan of Twilight Zone, EC, Blackest Night, or any of the Bronze Age supernatural stuff like Swamp Thing and Spectre, it’s worth checking this one out.
