If you are a Marvel fan, you know what the name Jason Aaron means. If you are an long time Marvel fan, you know what Marc Silvestri means. Putting the 2 of these creators on the same book would seem to make most fanboys very excited to say the least. I know I was at the very least curious enough to get this book. What I got was something that ultimately failed to live up to the billing for me. The pencils are still very fine if you are a fan of Silvestri's work, and others will find them a nice fit for the gamma goliath. The real "miss" here is the story found inside of a new #1 issue. It's not a story that should be found in a #1. Why? It's because you get pulled into a whole new "Hulk world" and have no idea at all how he got to this place. There isn't even a "The Story so Far..." entry at the beginning, which is normally redundant on a #1 issue, but completely called for and needed with this. If you have not been reading the Hulk titles all along, this is NOT an issue to jump onto the title with. I had hopes that it would be, mostly because I had hope for this new team working on a book I used to love. As it read to me though, it's just another attempt by Marvel to take your money and leave you with a ho-hum book. I wanted to like this. I didn't.
