Welcome back Ryan Ottley, to these, the end of days. Invincible joins the depressing list of books ending under their own steam from last year that included Chew and Darth Vader. This issue, like Walking Dead #163, is only a quarter. You know its ending (I just told you if you didn't), so why hop on for the final year? A few reasons.

Robert Kirkman has been a top notch superhero writer since he got into comics.

Invincible has been a top notch superhero comic since it was created.

Invincible is no longer a superhero comic, because being a hero is bulls**t. I'm just quoting the lead character. And his wife. ( Wait, his what?!?!)

Suffering after the death of his brother, Mark takes his anger out in a perfectly nonconstructive way on an easy target. By the time this issue is done, you'll know he never should have stopped punching as a long time friend proves, um, untrustworthy (we'll go with that) going forward. Expect to see more than a few faces torn apart with Ryan Ottley's signature gore. RIP Oliver.

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
