Jupiter's Legacy is a hip and sexy take on pulpy super-family-comics concepts that mostly works. A mysterious island is introduced (always fun), luring young explorers to a fate beyond their imaginings. Quickly the book shifts to the shallow fame-hungry successors to the legacy of the altruistic explorers. The generational contrasts are obvious in Millar's barbing of the dysfunctional Sampson family, but his skewer and wit is sharp. Quitely's art is, as always, of the highest pedigree.
