The Multiverse is teetering on the brink, and Lex Luthor's Legion of Doom is poised for victory. But as the combined intellects of Brainiac and the world's smartest man make their move toward conquering the keys to the sixth dimension, a much bigger power grows on the horizon. At last, the final form of Perpetua takes her shape, and the DCU will never be the same again!

I am truly torn on this one. With very little of the Justice League or the Legion of Doom, this epic little flashback starts off by breaking one of my fundamental rules, which is don't explain what doesn't need to be explained. Like some kind of inescapable puzzle the Source Wall begets the Hawk creature of the Forge so we can explain the dark universes but then we need to know how those came about. So now we have this ultimate mother being that created that hawk creature but also the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor?! Sigh! Will this never end? I was perfectly happy with a Bat-Mite vs evil Mxyzptlk. One of the best parts of reading comics is those unanswerable questions that we can all argue about. If you give us answers to everything (and lame ones at that) where's the fun? Luckily, Starman and Bat-Mite showed up or else this one would have been sitting around a four.

I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams
