Lost Soldiers #1

$3.99
VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
(W) Ales Kot
(A/CA) Luca Casalanguida, Heather Moore
Vietnam, 1969. Juarez, forty years later. Three men tied by the war they left behind-on collision course with a new one.
Date Available: 07/29/2020
BONUS REVIEW by Rick Berg

Ever wonder what life in Vietnam was like with Frank Castle at your side? Well Ales Kot may not have intended for that but Lost Soldiers reads very much like a Marvelseque version of having a proto Punisher type in your platoon. Kowalski and Hawkins barely survive Vietnam and Burke (our Castle stand-in). Many years later the 3 of them work for a Mercenary group that is going to peacefully help "some enemies of our enemies yadda yadda yadda" and their merchandise in Juarez. All the while worrying about prostate cancer and missing family get togethers. Intriguing story about boys becoming men, men becoming machines of death and the horrors of war. Very moody and appropriate artwork by Luca Casalanguida and Heather Marie Lawrence Moore. I liked it and can't wait for issue #2. Maybe you will too.

I give it 7 out of 10 Grahams
