I'd give this cover 10 Grahams. I have tried to read this book 3 times now. Once on a computer PDF but it looked so garish and awful I gave up after 2 pages. Then once in hand I made it nearly 5 pages and clearly this book is not meant for me. Then I tried a final third time so I could type this "review". Mindy Lee was clearly tasked to evoke the nostalgia of 80s/90s comics but most of that is lost under random shadows. As this is colored like the 2021 anime series which it leads to. On top of that is a dense fog of word balloons & thought balloons. Sooooo many words. So much reading. To me it feels like Kevin Smith told a vague story that Rob David then added He-Man and sword & sorcery themes to. And then Tim Sheridan had to write a four issue story that very loosely tied to the old cartoon to try and capture/ suck in viewers and readers like me. All done after watching a YouTube video that described the old series in 5 minutes. Add in some "woke" changes for the sake of "woke" changes and print it. At the very least the licensed characters are not required to say their respective catch phrases, as far as I could tell. Love that cover though.

I give it 2 out of 10 Grahams
