Spidey #1

VERY FINE/NEAR MINT

Think you know everything about Peter Parker's early days? Think again. It's action, adventure and a rip-roaring romp in classic Marvel style as SPIDEY swings onto shelves this winter! Featuring adventures from throughout the web-slinging wonder's younger years, it's a return to the days of overdue homework, not knowing how to talk to girls (or anybody, really) and just a plenty of danger. Witness some of Spidey's earliest tangles with the likes of DOC OCK, SANDMAN and a host of other unexpected guests! Rated T

BONUS REVIEW by Kevin Healy

As an all ages Spidey book, this is fine. As a 'let's read about Peter in high school when everything wasn't as heavy and although he was a lovable loser the losses weren't as big' book, this is also fine. The only thing that makes this book NOT fine is 'The Untold Tales of Spider-Man' series from Kurt Busiek and Pat Olliffe. That series was set between specific issues of ASM during the Lee/Ditko era, and it was pure magic. This book, sadly, is not pure magic. It's fun, but we have a precedent to hold it up to.

I give it 6 out of 10 Grahams
