Star Wars Thrawn Alliances #1 (2024) second print has been added to your cart.
Marvel's newest Star Wars comic brings blue faced excitement, but might make you blue by the end. Grand Admiral Thrawn, in his original incarnation, is never less than a compelling strategist, working to bring the Empire back to its former glory. Now he's shoehorned and hamstrung, worked back into 'canon' so Dave Filoni can have someone say 'Heir To The Empire', like they're remotely going to do that for his movie. SPOILER ALERT- you need the OT cast and they're not coming back. Let's get back to the comic.
Jody Hauser does a perfectly serviceable job adapting a modern Timothy Zahn novel. Half the art is by Pat Oliffe, and has a great 70s/80s Marvel feel, which means things look right enough to know you're reading a Star Wars book, and things look off enough to know you're reading a comic. Thrawn and Vader are having a team up, TWO team ups in fact, as they met when he was Anakin so they can keep flashing back to that.
It's half good! It's half bad! What do you want from me, I didn't make it.
