Bloody chunks of a Kung Fu movie get mashed together with a couple of corpses from the Hunger Games to bring you Tear Us Apart. The story is steeped in some version of eastern mysticism that doesn't get fully explained, or even mildly fleshed out, in this issue. There's a master, there are students, and there is forbidden love. I guess that's fine, because what IS fleshed out is flesh itself. Colored in a pallete of mostly blue, there are flashes and floods of red dripping everywhere in fun, furious, energetic fights drawn by Alessandro Micelli. His art is very stylized, and reminded me a little bit of Jamie Hewlett if Tank Girl had been a blood bath. I can't say for sure if this is 'good', just that I really enjoyed it.
