Reviews

There are a bunch of reasons to be optimistic about a horror anthology comic. The recent Creepshow revival easily justifies that optimism.

Can we spread that same hope to this book?

Yes. But we'd be fools to do so. Let's look at what went wrong here, shall we?

First off, this is a comic that was solicited for release at Halloween 2022. It is considerably late. If you're going to be five months late, what's inside needs to be worth the wait. No such luck here.

Second- an anthology book needs to hit on a higher percentage of worthwhile stories than dogs. Even though one of these features a cat, the dogs reign supreme.

Third, if you claim your book is about something, whether its a 'sexy vampire seductress', a 'seductive sexy vampire', or even a 'vampire who is seductively sexy in a sexy seductive way', those traits need to be presented in the stories themselves, not just in the descriptions of them.

Fourth- Your covers should be tied to the interior of your book. Anyone who shows up here thinking that a bunch of period puritans are going to get what's coming to them will be let down, nay, even misled. It's the sort of thing people are suing about over movie trailers now, and the good folks publishing might do well to follow that case closely.
What could have been a fun, cheeky round of different lady vampires vamping it up on the ol' vamp box is instead the modern version of the throwaway anthology tale. We're giving this Three Grahams, one for each story.

For the vampire enthusiast in you, may we recommend DC Batman Elseworlds Red Rain Trilogy, or the Mike Mignola adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula instead?
