Wraparound Cover by MARKO DJURDJEVIC When a stranger appears in front of Iron Man, visiting Captain America’s symbolic grave at Arlington, he is told of two diverse ways CIVIL WAR could’ve concluded. The first: What If CAPTAIN AMERICA led all the heroes against the Registration Act? The second: What if IRON MAN lost the Civil War?
Join writers Ed Brubaker (Captain America, Daredevil), Kevin Grevioux (New Warriors, the movie-Underworld) and Christos Gage (Civil War: Casualties of War, World War Hulk: X-Men, TV’s Law & Order: SVU) in a giant-size issue that answers the questions Iron Man never wanted to ask!
With interior art by superstar cover painter Marko Djurdjevic, artist Gustavo (Marvel Age Spider-Man, Green Lantern, TMNT and The Amory Wars) and newcomer Harvey Tolibao (Iron Man Annual, Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic), this issue will fulfill your Civil War withdrawal!
"A nice dichotomy in this two story What If, with a rare ‘everything works out’ version of Civil War preceded by the typical ‘everyone gets killed’ version. Which really detracted for me, since it’s gotten to be clichéd that ‘Unless everything occurred exactly as it did, EVERYONE WOULD HAVE DIED! Plus, chocolate would forever taste bitter! And no one would hug!’ is the go-to What If plot these days. The second story, by the way-better-than-their-Iron-Man-Annual team of Christos Gage and Harvey Tolibao, examines the equally unpublishable version of Civil War, where instead of fighting, everyone gets together and talks out their problems. Which, y’know, great for a back-up, not so good for a 7-issue story. Still, both stories are fun for those who read Civil War, which would be… everyone? I guess?"
