Ever since the initial Warren run, no one has know what exactly makes a great Vampirella story. This little nymphet created by Forest J Ackerman and Trina Robbins has brought untold writers and artists to their knees trying to bring us the next great Vampirella story. Sadly, Southern Gothic is the same. Writer Nate Cosby fully admits that the current incarnation of Vampirella is a complete cluster. We can't even get an agreement on her origin. But writer Cosby nor artist Jose Luis can be blamed. The story seems good, the art is fine but there is something missing. This is another case of the musicians being able to play the correct notes, they are just not making the music.
